Sometimes you just have to build something unusual to satisfy your scaler desires. Using the GCM 4TEN gasser 2wd frame set, we built up this rear wheel drive beauty. It's a Pro-Line Racing '56 F100 Ford body, custom painted by Zielke Racing, dropped directly onto the 4TEN chassis set, and a full set of leaf springs hung underneath.
The power comes from a brushless 4.5t sensored motor running 24/80 gearing and direct drive from the front transmission to the rear Axial axle set. A sensored ESC and 3s battery runs the drivetrain along with a super fast metal gear servo for steering.
The rims are all custom made, using Tamiya 2.2 rear buggy wheels in the rear. The super wide rear tires needed another bead glued to the inside to hold the massive tire, and a second set of Tamiya rims donated the material. That same cut set of rims also donated the dish center we glued into a standard 1.9 sedan rim up front, and the 4 wheel dished rims were born. As you can see, everything was offset as far inward as possible to achieve a fender match on the body, and using Axial truck axle widths front and rear we were able to keep the rubber under the body with this setup.
