GCM Racing RB3 Platform.
Here at GCM we can not stop thinking of innovative ways to have fun in the RC world. This great new platform brings a whole new approach to the 4WD brushless truck.
We had a desire here to make the lightest, fastest, simplest 1/10 scale 4WD truck ever. This new design is it. The light weight of this new RB3 translates into chassis response and speed like never before. Light enough to win with twin brushed or single brushless power from 3s lipo and up.
Using the proven GCM RoadBoy chassis geometry, we designed a whole new beast fit for the track. To achieve this we needed to have a chassis that was low, balanced, and easy to set up. This meant bringing the the battery weight into the center of the chassis, and resulted in an adaptable battery tray fitting a 3s TrakPower Li-po , dual 6 cell or 7 cell hump packs (or more in custom configurations), right up to 4, 5, and 6 cell Li-po packs. The battery tray measures 5.55" x 2.56" (140.5mm x 65mm) and uses velcro straps to hold the batteries down into the tray, so height of batteries is not a limiting factor unless you use a motor can over 55mm. In this case, the tall batteries will have to sit on the right side of the tray.
We wanted a capable high-quality powerplant and a light battery supply, so we use the 3s Li-po listed above and a venerable and proven Medusa 36-50-3300 v2 brushless motor. Our 4s Li-po RB3 uses the 2200, but with a running weight of under 3850 grams, this TrakPower battery will be more than enough. In order to mate the power available and the motor's fantastic demands, we used the small and tough Mamba Max from Castle Creations, This combination will give 35 to 41,000 rpm at the motor and with the weight savings is one ffffast machine.
The RB3 Platform Conversion Kits will be sold with several options. The 'Base Kit' will come with the battery tray, side chassis plates, and chassis/steering braces. The 'Roller Kit' will come with the base kit as well as the RacerEX Roller Kit shown on this page.
The RB3 Full Trucks are available by custom order only with all you see here, including the Red Anodized parts, and a recommended power system installed, but NO radio system.
