DesertBoyXL information:

No need to spend all day reading about the capable Savage Flux. We have made it a whole bunch better with the introduction of the DesertBoyXL version, a Nitro Savage XL sized truck, but with the full benifits of the Flux electric powertrain. Too good to be true.

DesertBoy-17 information: With a wheelbase of 448mm it's a beast, and sure to take your ride to new levels.

Utilizing the strong and capable Savage Flux, we have decided that the proven GCM designs and layouts must be carried over to this larger scale off-road. The result is months of design work, many trials, and much coffee.

At this point the current designs and working prototypes are using all HPI parts with the exception of the chassis plates and battery trays. The GCM platform uses a 5 side protected internal battery bay that can hold a whopping huge battery stack, and with the full width of the chassis available to use for the purpose. We are talking 184mm x 74mm x 60mm or more in height and velcro strap slots all along the way.

UPDATE: This truck has now been running for a good long while and has proven to be a strong performer and very reliable. We are pleased to have also developed a full metal skidplate for the DesertBoy line as well. Please see the shopping page for prices and availability.
