History

Generis Custom Metalworks was established in 2003. The local area was looking for a custom automotive part manufacturer and as the business was machining services this was a natural fit. The love of all autos by the workers made for a unique job on every car or truck, and thus the name was born: generis - meaning unique!

This has never been a production-motivated business. We have specialized in designing and producing ones and twos and small runs of parts. This service and corporate intent has led to interesting things coming through the shop as well as a Radio-Control specialty parts division now shipping world-wide.

Computing

For about a year we worked on developing and manufacturing a water-to-air exchanger for CPU cooling for the gaming and server computer industry. At least one of these units has been in service since 2003!

Automotive

We had a run of about 2 years of off and on custom interior installs for cars. This involved DVD screens, gaming centers, gauges, NOx switch panels, and much more. The cars this work came with were show winning and very competitive on the track. We are still doing the occasional automotive job on gorgeous vehicles new and old.

Tooling

Specialized tooling is a shop favorite. We see hard to imagine designs through to the functional end time after time, and really shine bringing unique tools to life.

Rc

There has been a love of all things radio controlled here for many years, and this has translated most recently into a flurry of design in the area of off-road R/C. There are several E-savage upgrades available to make your truck handle great and increase reliability and strength and a new line in design for the all new HPI Savage Flux. As well as our own E-Savage Crawler truck we designed and manufactured, a full E-maxx crawler was custom developed for a buyer, both done in-house at GCM. We are now into the AX-10 phenomenon also, and have designs for unique axten-based scaler parts. The exciting world of R/C continues to develop and impress us all.

Truck

We have to make deliveries and pickups every now and then, so why not get a delivery truck? We couldn't find just the right one, so we made one to spec. Surprised? I thought not. It has a page all it's own, and you can join the unique world of our truck here at the Ranger Project page.

Summary

There is so much variety of material, product, and design coming through the shop we could not describe it all here. From hardware for medical devices, to thread display and shipping containers, to marine engine parts, to kitchen knobs, we have seen it all, high tech to automotive, engineering to R/C.

Give us a ring or drop a note and see what we can do for you.
